One week without you.
While some may think we were crazy, my mom knew just about everything I did, everyday. We texted constantly, talked on the phone, or popped in for visits. She answered questions faster than Google, sent emojis or GIFs to better capture the humor of the day, or would send loving texts on important and tough days. She was my best friend. My Lorelei Gilmore. She would drop everything, any time of day - for anyone. But especially her family. Countless times being there for me whether it be the middle of the night, first thing in the morning, it didn’t matter. There’s no one like her.
It’s been comforting reading over the last week how everyone says she was a light to so many, her beautiful smile, & her friendly personality. She truly was one of a kind.
Theres a hole in my world, as there is in many. A void that’s never going to go away. A world where you don’t exist just doesn’t make sense. I already miss you more than words can express, but I know you’ve begun filling my world with signs to show you’re not far away.
Always my mother, forever my best friend.
I love you, Mom.
